Purpose

How does the position contribute to the success of the operation, division and company?

 

The objective of the cleanup personnel is to remove debris that piles up during the mills operating time. Removing piles of sawdust and debris will provide a safer work environment for all of the individuals working at the mill, and will reduce the chance of the sawdust or debris causing downtime for the mill. 

 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Expectations and Performance Measures What measures or metrics will the individual be measured on and what level of performance is required?  Other duties may be assigned.

Areas of responsibilities are as follows:

  • Drop Out Area
  1. Daily
  • Overhead – Floor chain – Gang Outfeed area – wood between roll case and short storage –     No wood over 3 ft. in waste belt conv. Below unscrambler.
  • Gang Edger Area
  1.  Daily
  • Top of Gang – Chips on side of slabbers, drive chains.
  • Under Camel Back – Cant storage of roll case – any wood blocks – lumber or wood blocks with metal goes to Resaw chute.
  • Board Edger
  1.  Daily
  • Landing table infeed and scrambler – sticks from drive sprockets lug chains – lumber or wood blocks with metal goes to Resaw chute.
  1.   Weekly
  • Blow off top of Edger, hoses, cylinders, all around edger area.
  • Resaw
  1.   Daily
  • Blow out all wood chips; saw dust under and around saws #1 & #2 –sticks out feed rolls.
  1.    Weekly
  • Blow off sawdust on top of saw guards, scanners beam.
  • Head Rig
  1. Daily
  • Carriage tracks – Slabber
  1. Weekly
  • Under #1 & #2 log decks, roof above millwrights shop.
  • Reman
  1. Daily
  • Under Landing Table
  • Under and around Reman
  • Cat Walks – Top of Electrical disconnects
  1. Weekly
  • Walls – Rafters
  1. Monthly
  • Sawmills Trash Cans
  1. Weekly
  • Wednesday
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Lock out/Tag out trained.
  • Must be SAFETY minded while working in a production environment.
  • Lifting and physical activity is required for this position, must be able to move boards and wood pieces.

Occasionally pushing, pulling and lifting cants.

Using air wands and leaf blower.
